Thought i might do something useful for the forum :
Difference between Tamiya Spray paint and Industrial Brand spray paint

Tamiya (Light gun Metal)

Industrial Brand (RJ Metallic Silver)

Hope this helps, will try and find Nippon metallic ash grey if possible.
IMHO, Tamiya LGM is duller than RJ MS, even why RJ MS is given a coat of dull lacquer and tamiya is not.

Do we need to apply premier before we paint? Does this apply to every gun?

Using primer gets you results like this :
Thanks guys.  Smiley

PART TWO - PAINTING

Step 1:
Spray the whole gun in primer. This is important as it gives the paint a good surface to stick to properly.

Step 2:
Spray the parts in the colour of your choice - I used:
- dark metallic grey for the body followed by flat varnish
- mettalic charcoal for the buttstock tube
- satin black for the handgrip, pump handle and buttstock.

But most of the time, primer is only used if you're making drastic colour changes to the replica you're spraying. (e.g Black to Sparkly pink)

yes i recommend u use primer coz most of the replicas have smooth plastic so u need a way to get the paint to stick. alternatively u could sand the surface with a fine sandpaper but make sure u get into the nooks and crannies if not it will look uneven

Are there any differences between RJ London's Zuper Spray and Epoxy Acrylic Spray? Both of their description state that they are quick-drying and durable though...
