Hi all,
I stumbled upon this forum via the recommendation of a friend I have. Correct me if I'm wrong but from the posts I see here, I reckon that what you guys do is basically "run around with a lightsaber and try to hit other people with lightsabers as quickly and as many times as possible, and score "kills".
As I saw in one of the posts, one of you would like this group to be similar to the lightsaber group in the USA called NYJedi.
I was part of a Singaporean entity called "SEJA" which is extremely similar to NYJedi. I am no longer a part of this SEJA but I have started a group called FightSaber a couple of months back.
FightSaber also has a group running in Malaysia. What FightSaber does is to choreograph lightsaber fights and perform them on stage or in front of a crowd.
In this way, it is even more impressive to the masses than a random whacking of each other. What say you guys? Would you rather choreograph a magnificent performance or run around like an FPS gamer with little or no rules?
Tell me your views.

Saw the second video, looks pretty interesting. Martial arts background required?

Absolutely not. Tho I have basic training in Kendo, fencing, chanbara and abit more in Ninjutsu. Of course you will be taught in the basics of how to handle a lightsaber properly from the swinging to the blockings. This is however, a staged battle so if you're a drama mama, it will be awesome. Costumes are definitely secondary coz the main interest here is the lightsaber. Besides, you can wear anything and call it your Jedi costume. What we need are committed and enthusiastic members.

Eugene was busy all day.
Anyways, I'm definitely open to the idea of informal sharing with others.
It would be good to have some structured sparring, as opposed to jabbing each other!

Omg, I think you were talkin' about me man. Yeah, I was hopin' someone like you might come 'round. Can you tell us more about your organisation? Does it have meetings, or training sessions? I believe that lightsabers are the ideal weapon for martial arts performances, but I myself have little experience in martial arts. I would love for some guidance.

The thing is, none of us have any martial arts background, Kit is a saber smith and i am supposed to organize meet ups, however we have been really caught up with work and other stuff, to really get together. If you guys want to meet up, feel free to PM me, and we can arrange something.

Hi there, as for now I don't have regular meetups or trainings since this new group of mine in Singapore consists of myself and another guy. This is the main reason why I am reaching out to you guys. I want to grow this group. Whatever we do, technically is not martial arts but has basis in several martial arts especially the ones with swordplay. If you guys are really2 interested, I can get training space for us at the new *Scape building maybe about twice a month. The other two weeks we can go for chanbara training.
