Well, loose lips sink ships. And it was all a matter of time... I sure hope it will not affect us. Time to be even more careful...

I did Air Rifle when I was in JC. Pretty stringent rules for it too... I remember a time when the armoury alarm went off at 4am due to a fault, the police called up my teacher-in-charge to find out what was going on.

That is yet another in many examples (this thread a prime one) of just how much emphasis there is on arms control here, yes?

watch what you say bro.
don't say anything about the gorverment of SG.
very sensitive.Abit abit they might find you.

My friend told me something happend to his friend when he said some minor things about the gorverment online.

Just keep it to yourself or vent your anger by hitting the pillow and blasting music.
well of cos by law if too noisy also get into trouble.

It's a joke... but I also want to stress on the need to remain in-line and not push deviancy overboard. But this is just me.

Yes indeed. In Singapore, they make a lot of noise, arrest you. Charge, go jail, thats it.

In UK, you will probably be shot. By SO19 if you're in London.

I wonder, if you have a lathe and mill and machine your own parts like firing pin etc. Is that illegal?

If I can demonstrate that its for something else? Or demonstrate that it cannot be used to fire ammunition? Like, obviously if I machine a fake bolt carrier out of plastic or wood, is that still a chargable offence? If it is, you technically cannot have model warships and planes either =P

then it is made of plastic / wood and unable to use it for firing, well it is not a offence.

Read Part I, sections 1 and 2, and go figure. Technically speaking I guess you wouldn't run afoul of the law, but under section 2 part 1(c), there is room for ambiguity.

And, OMG! Big Brother is actually XL! Aaaaaaahhhh! Run! Hide!

so next time u buy 3 rifle brand underwear, remember to ask the seller not to ship the box because the box also got the word rifle Cheesy

Knn, next time I see you I'll think "He must be wearing a 3 rifle brand underwear..". Hahahaha!!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Personally, I find it quite amusing thinking about the paranoia associated with the government knocking at your door (or something to that effect) if you say something 'wrong' on the internet. It's quite laughable.

Please lah, nobody's really 'watching' and looking out for troublemakers. It's not feasible, resource-wise. And you are dealing with a few million internet surfers every single day, talking about millions of different stuff. I really LOL-ed when I came across another forum which warned users not say stupid things about the government because there are 'people from the government closely monitoring what's being said on the internet'. *rolls eyes*

If you are familiar with HardwareZone Forums and EDMW, you'll know that it's a daily occurrence that forummers lambast PAP and 'our dear leader' and these people have been around for a long, long time (as you can see from their post counts) but of course the government is smart enough to know who are the real troublemakers, and who are just noisy, empty barrels voicing their dissatisfaction from behind computer monitors.

Once in a while, they will just do a little PR and act upon reports, mostly cases of sedition and such.

Most of the time, they won't bother much about little boys and their toy guns lah.

They know that real terrorists/criminals will find it really bo liao to even come in and hang around places such as here.

So, don't have to worry if you really do not have any malicious intentions. But if you want to know what it's like and experience being at a police station, just say something potentially controversial and see if anyone reports you, and if they do, what it's like ie. the process and everything. In the end, if you really have nothing to hide - it's just going to be another experience and you'll know more about things and not have unnecessary fear of things like this. Fear usually comes from basic ignorance.

Well, fear is a very effective instrument of government. Smiley
