My Alpha Trooper has air restrictor removed, air hole taped and plunger head padded with foam. My Raider is still in its stock unmodified form.

I see. Yup it's better to remove the air resstrictor for raider as well.

OK, I have received my springs for Maverick, Alpha Trooper and Raider earlier today, thanks for quick delivery.

Earlier this evening, I replaced the spring in Maverick, and it does shoot harder than stock spring, happy with it.

However I am having a hell of a time with Alpha Trooper spring replacement. I couldn't prime the plunger properly with Black Tactical spring. It seems the plunger sled couldn't push pass the second notch no matter how hard I try to prime, so when I need to push the foregrip handle forward before I can shoot, the plunger sled stuck at halfway. I tried putting back stock spring, and the gun works again. Wasted about 3 hours trying several time but got to go to bed soon. Please help!

If u didn't change the trigger catch spring, then u got to change to a stronger one.
There may be another thing that's causing the problem. The replacement spring isn't exactly the size as the stock spring. So u got to file and smoothen out all the 'ribs' at the back of the gun that contains the spring. I hope u know what i mean =/

This is disappointing. There is no mention of on the replacement spring page that we all have to change the trigger catch spring. Now where am I going to find suitable stronger spring that fits into the trigger catch?

OK, I have filed down the ridges inside the rear end of the gun which housed the spring, so there is an extra 2-3mm in diameter to accommodate the BT spring when it is compressed. The Alpha Trooper is able to shoot now. It appears the stock trigger catch spring is strong enough, no need to be replaced. This is a similar problem to a few people who replaced their Recon's stock spring with BT spring.

Yea i had the same problem with my recon. But after abit of thinking, i recalled seeing it somewhere that in order to fit in the BT spring u got to file off the back part. Can't remember where i saw it from. But oh well, ur alpha trooper is working =D

Hi.

Whats the difference between the first Recon spring and the (v2) version? is there any difference it strength? Does the (v2) version have the sharp end at one side?

Thanks.

The first recon spring is phased out. The second version does not have the sharp end.

Oh. A few more questions guys.
Which o-ring is suitable for the Alpha Trooper? The O-ring from BT is thicker than the original right?

And i would like to know whether the raider/deploy spring has the sharp end on one side.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

I recently bought a spring for my maverick, and one for my recon too (v2). I finally had time today to try out the maverick one, but I found that after replacing the spring with the new one, it is unable to cock. I believe the problem lies in that the spring is too heavy/strong. I am 100% sure that I placed the parts back correctly, because I have taken the gun apart many times over before. It cocks and shoots fine when I put back the original spring. Earlier in this thread people have mentioned trying to pull it back faster, and I've tried it but it still doesn't work.

Any suggestions? Could it just be a problem with that spring, or is there another priming technique I'm not aware of?

Thanks!  Cheesy

What I do is use a file to sharpen the corner of catch vicinity on the cylinder.  That will give a more positive "seating" of the catch.  Be careful not to over file, it might puncture the pressure chamber.

Thanks for the quick replies!!

I have my hands full with homework now, so I'll probably try it over the weekend or later this week. I assume the catch spring is the spring above the trigger that holds the pulled-back plunger in place? from reading previous posts, am i right to say that i should use/add the spring from a G2 pen?

thankya!!
