For range and accuracy photon is almost the same as a Recon. They both have potential to shoot up  to 60 ft or higher after modification.

Its your choice. You decide what model's design you like and compare with others.

Does BT do modifications and paint jobs?? Cause I'm afraid that If I were to buy it and try modifying it that it could spoil!

No risk no gain. You have to do trial and error or you'll never know. If you're really scared that it will spoil, you can do a month long planning and drawing period which may take some of that stress away. If you plan thoroughly, confirm no problem unless the plan never do properly or your cutting skill like shit, which will never happen if you practice cutting and do it slowly or you damn zai in D&T.

I'm not very what's nerf like now, but i roughly remember that most of the nerf have ard the same modding potential. Unless it's longshot you're talking about.

The range all depends on how you mod your nerf.
You can always consult people at the nerf forums for tips or you can browse through their modding tutorials. Likewise, you can always pay someone to mod for you or you can buy a modded 1 off another person.
