It is a sad day for us. Cosfest gave me good memories for two years, especially. But whatever the case of troublemakers and what not, we MUST remain cohesive as a group and portray our best sides (what I've said in other posts).

Sigh. We are already a niche group in a subculture, but we won't go out dyin' so quickly. Pray tell, was this request strongly-worded, or simply routine traffic? So we can plan ahead if need be... (uh, anything can take it to PM I don't mind).

I do not think we should lament, whine or  emo over this.

There are other events.

That is also why I do not carry emotional attachments or baggage to events.

Please do not turn this into a major issue.

I am just honouring a request.

Please do not take it out on Anime Cosplayers.

They have no part in this.

I regard them as friends.

I do not think that paperbags boys will turn up for cosfest only. So i guess, for other event, should we see people like them again we just do our part and inform the security?

I understand, though I'm the kind who likes to look back at memories. Granted we will move on, but still...

Alright. Heads up here: I need you people on this issue.

I have some organizers' request for Military Costumers to not show up in their event.

I respect their wishes.

So therefore, I asked you folks not show up on your own accord in Mil-Sim costumes.

Of course, there are some who always has welcomed us.

Barry especially, is the liaison guy for the good lobangs.

We thank you greatly for the untold amount of help you have done for us.

Well, could it be because some special guest will be coming? Like minister and such? Probably its not because of the bad image but security reasons.
If it isn't, then... wah~

Nah, I doubt it'd be as such, especially when we're talking about the next Cosfest which is like one year away. Also, the only minister I can think of that would be relevant to this would be our dear Minister MCYS, the former Chief of Army MG (NS) Chan...

Then again I've not spotted him nor his predecessor (Dr Vivian Balakrishnan) at many (if any!) costuming-related events? Correct me if I am wrong. Either way, while it is easy to simply finger that one incident as the cause of Cosfest Org. Comm's request, it could be possible that there were other reasons such as facing pressures from other stakeholders - something I'm not clear off, just speculating.

I wonder what I'd do for Cosfest X.2 come next year, though. Hmm...

Mod's thought:

I cannot get it.

There is STGCC, EOY, WCG and AFA.

I simply cannot comprehend.

I did not say anything about every other events banning Mil-Sim / Tactical costuming and somehow it ends up with the word "BAN" added in.

That is called Rumour Mongering.

In any case, Please Honour THAT ORGANISER's request.

For those who been thru' NS, remember this:

Allowing prop weapons is a privilege. If the privilege is abused sufficiently. It can be taken away!
It is not an ENTITLEMENT !

so it is not ban but not welcome?  Or cannot go or go at your own accord but risk of being turn away?

As I believe there will still be ppl going as mil-sim to such event even they are not part of this community here.

Guess the  event org going to enforce it by putting up the statement in the web and state "NO WEAPON or MIL-SIM" of sort.  Then to me this become sub standard organising.

As long as, we cover our ends here.

That is all it matters.
