Picked this story from a Nerf forum:

I want to share something with you. this is just another reminder to you guys regarding what happened to me.

I have a nerf longstrike. Not heavily modded. just AR removed, thats all. i mod it for the looks mainly. got a scope at BT and a home made bipod from a camera tripod stand. cut and attached it myself. and as you may know, we all love to paint our blasters to our desired colours.

i was spray painting mine outside my house. and i was brought to know that my neighbours called the police because he thought mine was a real sniper rifle.

i understand i couldnt bring it out to public but hell it was just outside my door. and my nerf was matte black. all went well as i explained to them that it was a toy blaster and IN NOT ANY WAY COULD IT HARM ANYONE WHICH INVOLVES DEATH IN PARTICULAR. showed them my recon and my darts too. got a green light for all my blasters so not to worry.

the point is, if you need to bring it out to do some of your modifications on it be it spraypainting or cutting PETG or CPVC pipes, make sure the neighbours are asleep. or make sure its away from the public eyes.

Especially if they are elderly. AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE NEIGHBOURS LIKE MINE. they might not know its a toy.

To them IT KILLS (  *sic * by appearance alone).

haha your neighbour sucks or you never invite them for curry ayam during CNY.  LOL

Well joke aside, i do most of my work outside.  Cutting, painting, sawing, dremel, filing etc etc.  Nobody call police before, nobody say anything except a new immegrant asked me about airsoft in Singapore.

Even the sweep floor stop and watch me do, haha Grin.

I cannot spray guns outside my house anymore.. coz my new next door neighbour has two young kids.. Dont want the fumes to travel into their house.

Hate spray painting at night, espcially in the common lobby (EA type HDB). The sound fo paint spraying to some people might attract their attention because it seems like there are loan sharks at work.. the usual thing.
