Before anyone start this hobby:

Why the interest ?

If you are in it for -
i.) Computer Games Fantasies
ii.) trying hook up with chicks

That top 2 reasons; My answer for that is "It is a mega waste of time and resources!"

There are better things to do.

Stop trying to bring the hobby down to gutter levels!

There is a reason why hobbies like this have standards and the forum's folks are hung up with CIRAS, MARPAT and Multicam stuffs.

It is a Giganto-Fracking shame if anyone who claims he is a gun fanatic or whatever COD fan, and he shows up in horrid mismatched costume equipped with 1/3 baked toy replica.

We are not an Elitist Movement; we are trying to be credible, professional and knowledgeable.

If that is too much for such pea-brains to take, then please stay at home & be a closet costumer.

Please be realistic; if you wanna be like Soap MacTavish, better be of the appropriate size and proportion.
If you are sunken chested with scrawny chicken neck, get in shape ( Plan for bulk building with a fitness plan).

OC = Known as Original Character. This is a point of debate in the Cosplay world. For those brain-dead ones, stay the Frack out!
If you cannot justify your OC, the critics will pummel your sorry end in !

Age = Frankly speaking if you are 12 and standing at 1.6m, it is OK.
If you look like a hobbit, please grow taller or older then don your ACU, you will look mature & better.
If you are 1.4m and wanna don Multicam, even seen a Hobbit Special Forces Operative ? You are it !

Got to the Net and study the different nationalities lay out of equipments.

No one will fault you if you cannot reproduce 100%.

yea , if you want to to mil-sim cosplay be prepared, dont start out , then suddenly say its expensive , cause you're just wasting your time

The impt thing...is research, research and research...what you cant buy, try to find similar replicas in terms of design and model. 1 year ago, i embark on my devgru project, still today i'm working on it as i dun want to put up a half farked job, which would be the laughing stock of all

Other important items to consider are your specific loads and equipment and what are they used for cos alot of times i have seen many cramping their vest with pouches and accessories to the max...remember use only what is appropriate and what you need

Things to note when planning for a char

1) What char are you going for? Think hard and then stick to it..and dun be fickleminded

3) Accessories ...use only whats applicable and not becos it looks good

Some common items are flashbangs, frag grenades, smoke grenades, CAT, Cyalume (Colored/IR), EMT scissors. IFAK kit, carabiner, restrainers, multitool, utility knife/blade etc

4) Equipment

Helmet, Comms set, Gloves, Boots, Gloves, Shades, NOD, NVG mounts, Drop Leg Holster, Hydration pack, Rigger or Utility Belt

5) Weapons

Part 2:

Mind & Matter:

Note- I am not making fun of people but this has to take into consideration: Your Mindset.

If you are still being accompanied by your parents physically to get your costuming needs or your parents insists on coming along.

Stay the Frag out of this Hobby !
(It is different if your parents supports you morally / spiritually)

You have to haul props and costumes in a pack on your own.
IF YOU ARE SEEN DOING THIS BELOW, THERE WILL BE HELL TO RAISE !


Next:

Beach Road; As everyone knows- Beach Road is a PX for NSFs.
Study your outfit carefully. NOT everything is from there.

The SAF is known to sent plain-clothes Military Police to shopping centers, for nailing errant NSFs.
Dressing up like one or close to one is a sure way to get questioned.
Other countries' military is not their charge.

So it is also important to not misbehave.
For example, Dressing up as UK soldier, it is best to put on best behavior ( no drinking of alcohol, no obscene gestures, no rude behavior)

IF YOU CANNOT EVEN EXERT A INCH ON DISCIPLINE, THEN STAY FRACK OUT OF THIS HOBBY!

THIS IS NOT A HOBBY FOR ANY LAME-DUCKS TO UNLEASH THEIR INNER NONSENSE!

If you are not prepared for this STGCC, there are other event for you to prepare.

How apt - Just spent the last 5 hours reading up on RLCS / MLCS / FSBEII before coming through here.

I think the people here are relatively nice already - Elsewhere in France you have to fit a predetermined set of criteria before you can join the event !!

At this stage; most costumer should be assembling their costumes / props.

Not trying make their minds on the theme.

In fact the theme has been made and set already.

If any is still undecided, would suggest not to show up but postpone to the next costume event.


In fact, one should be having an "Events" calender in the pocket so as to know the coming events.

Not 2 weeks before, start to assemble and then forget this / that in the flustered confusion.
