The paratroopers mag pouch for the M1928 on D-day is custom made..Smiley but that's just a matter of sewing two mag pouches together.
Here is some information for you guys.  m1928 was phased out right after 1941.  Thompson M1 variants was used during the war.  As for the mag pouches yes for N Africa ops 1942-43 it was issued with 3 mag 30 round pouch...later it was switched for a 3 mag or 5 mag pouch 20 round in more use during D Day as USAB needed to carry more ammo.  3 mag is mainly used by USMC.  Also problem with the 30 round mag was not durable when drooped and the mag gets bent.  30round mag was stock issue with the M1 through out 1942 and 43 but troops were issued with more 20 round additional mags in late 43 and 1944.  And yes people did put together 3 mag pouchs together for D Day as most was issued with 5 mag pouch.  Goal was to carry as much as you can.

here is the model break down for the Thompson.  The resin kit is a model 43 to 44 era M1 or M1A1.

M1919 to 1927
the ones that you see in most mob movies.  With Drum Mags and handle fore grip

M1928
Simplified for Military use.  Still able to accept drum mag.  Supplied to russia and UK under land lease program.  US Army in officer issue.  Still costly to make and drum mag rattle and feed problem major issue.  Too costly for US Army at the time to widely issue. No handel fore grip.

M1 and M1A1 (for the resin kit)
Starting in early 1942 After US declared War.... it was produced in large number at cheaper cost for the US army and Marine.  Redesigned and simplified and standardized.  Triangel sight.  Bolt redesign to the side, Deleted compensator. Will not accept drum mag.  Butt stock permanently attached.

However it was still too costly to produce and can not be supplied to every troops in the field there for M3 Grease gun was created for late 43 to 45 for mass issue.

hope this helps.

You can get it at BT market or contact Staromega directly.  i can't pm so you can email me at superflomod@yahoo.com

As for chicago typewriter style i wont be making one but Staromega is working on a drum mag kit.  In order to do it you need to make a different bolt knob and cover the side bolt port and move it to the top plus a different fore grip need to be made and a different rea sight.  Alot more work.

Spray all with matt black.  Then spray RJ brown.  Then hand paint the wood pattern with 3 different tamiya colour namely red, brown and black.  Overlapping, mixing, blending all sort of brushing tactic.

tone down using combination of wet cloth, sanding, dull laquer.  Repeat til satisfactory result surface.
